Having friends or family over for a patio party is a great way to make memories. Making guacamole dip part of your fun can play a part of your perfect party.
Making a delicious guacamole dip is not at all difficult, though, for some reason people generally seem to think there is some kind of special magic involved. Or at least they think there must be some secret formula or recipe that only certain privileged individuals are privy to.
Creating the perfect backyard or patio party does not have to be complicated, but there are certainly some key elements that can provide the setting. No matter what you do, if the atmosphere is clouded by negativity or strife, it will be an unpleasant gathering.
On the other hand, even with very a basic ambiance, good vibes and friendship can transform the setting into a special time everyone will recall with fondness.
7 tips for a perfect party or gathering
Do not invite trouble. There is no law that say you have to ask your annoying relative or neighbor over. Jealous people, angry people, abusive people can stay home, or do whatever they do.Give plenty of advance notice. People are busy and need a little time to plan ahead. It can be maddening to suddenly be informed of a great gathering you would love to attend, but cannot because you already have made plans.
Have good music. If you play instruments or have friends who play, by all means make use of this talent. There is nothing quite like playing music together, especially if the skill level is at least on an intermediate level. Even beginners can make the party interesting and bring out those closet players who can be quite surprising.
Have a focus to the gathering. It could be the holiday, a birthday, a celebration of a promotion, a welcome party, a farewell party or any such event. If there is no focus, things tend to be scattered and the group can splinter off into their own interests, likely leaving you with all the work as well!
Provide adequate food and drink. Most people are all too happy to bring their special dish or drink to a party, but you must make sure you let them know ahead of time. If you provide everything you should let them know that as well. It is a good idea to have some spare drink on hand so you don't run out early on and somebody has to leave to get more drink.
Have a back up plan for everything. If your party is to be on the patio and it rains you must be prepared to bring the entire group inside. What if only a few people show up, or too many people come? You need to be ready for the unexpected so things can transition easily.
Make lots of fresh, delicious guacamole dip! I am always surprised to see how much people enjoy fresh appetizers, such as guacamole. Make it fresh, do not buy the stuff in the grocery store, there is no comparison. You can request that the bachelors bring good tortilla chips, instead of the usual inexpensive ones they typically bring. They will feel special to be requested.
In the end, it is the host and hostess who set the tone for the gathering. If you are happy and genuinely pleased to have your guests over, they will sense it and the rest will take care of itself.
