When you are in the position where you are expecting company to pay you a visit and they also plan to stay with you, your thoughts usually first go to - goodness, I'd better get cleaning! The other detail you are likely to start thinking about is the best sleeping arrangements for everyone during their visit.
Since your company is probably staying a week or less, it is a considerate move to make some sacrifices to make them comfortable. Depending on the amount of space you have, you may have to oust one of your kids from their bedroom during their stay. For a week the kids can double up freeing up a bedroom for your guests. If it's not too much work, empty out a couple of dresser drawers and make some space in your closet so they'll be able to unpack most of their clothes. Thinking of these details ahead of time will make the visit go more smoothly.
You should try to make their sleeping quarters as comfy and cozy as possible. You want to make sure their needs are met by supplying adequate blankets, pillows, towels and toiletries. You know that sleeping in a strange room, in a strange bed, can sometimes make settling in difficult for some. For people that aren't used to traveling it can be even more problematic.
If possible, set them up in a bedroom located in an area that gets the least amount of noise and traffic. This will minimize disturbances. Make sure the sheets on the bed are clean and fresh. If its winter time you may want to put some flannel sheets on for warmth. Cover the bed with an attractive comforter with additional blankets supplied at the end of the bed or in the bedroom closet. Everyone has their personal preferences when it comes to their sleeping environment. Make sure your guests have everything they may possibly need.
One of the ways to make the room more inviting and appealing for your company is to decorate the bed with pillows. A body pillow can be added to the top of the bed for decoration and for their use. If you own memory foam or buckwheat bed pillows, use these for their bed pillow. These two pillow materials are recommended by doctors for their orthopedic benefits.
Make sure you also stock your guest room with a mirror, magazine, and books especially if a TV is not available in the room. Your guests may like to relax in bed before drifting off to sleep.
It just requires a little thoughtfulness and common sense to make your guests comfortable.
